Winterizing Your Yard for Pollinators

From the DSF - Winterize your garden with year-round pollinators in mind. Leave key plants and natural materials in place and/or winter sow native seeds. You’ll create a vibrant, ecologically beneficial winter pollinator haven and help your garden thrive in spring. The picture features a wintery purple coneflower (aka echinacea) which is an excellent native perennial that is great for pollinators.

How solar and home batteries become virtual power plants, generating energy for the grid and eliminating concerns about power outages!

From CBC - Virtual power plants (VPP) are networks of devices that generate, use and store energy, such as smart thermostats, electric vehicle batteries and solar panels with battery storage. By connecting and controlling them together, the energy saved, stored or released by the network eventually adds up to the scale of a physical power plant. This Edmonton community has gone all in on this technology.
